Monash University Older Driver Research Programs The Monash University Accident Reseach Centre has conducted extensive research in conjunction with Austroads & Australian Licencing authrorities over the past decade with the aim of developing a national model licensing procedure. The research outlines the proposed model and which targets those suspected to be "at-risk" drivers using community referral mechanisms and a more thorough and valid assessment procedure within a licensing agency framework. "The emphasis of the model is to allow older drivers to continue to drive as long as possible without placing undue risk on either the older population or the community general".
